7/5/2014 0 Comments So...That HappenedAs most all of you know I have a bit of an obsession with Ed Sheeran. I love his music, I love his hair, and I love him. I also love his extremely attractive tattoos. It's been a goal of mine for a while to go to one of his concerts and see him front row. And, of course, I would die if I ever got to meet him. Well, as many know or have guessed from my latest social media updates, I had a bit of an exciting night on Wednesday. I showed up at camp at 7 am, ready for a long and completely average day at camp followed by the first Family Night of the summer. I had just downed a large coffee in preparation for the day ahead so I was already a bit jittery when my best friend Katie camp slowly walking up to me with two of her fellow lifeguards at her side acting rather strange. "Amanda..." She said to me. "Yeah?" I asked. Her manner was rather peculiar and causing some nervousness within me since she is known for doing some pretty stupid stuff sometimes (love you Kate ;D) and I thought that maybe she needed my help to get out of some kind of trouble she had gotten herself into. "How attached are you to going to Family Night tonight?" confusion... "Why....?" "Well," she said slowly, "I may or may not have just won front row tickets to see Ed Sheeran on the radio this morning and the concert is tonight." I'm pretty sure my body shut down for a second after hearing this. But clearly is was impossible to have actually happened so I smiled a bit and said, "Haha. Not funny." "I'm not joking. Mark switched the radio to 103.3 this morning and I heard the cue to call, and I thought Amanda loves Ed Sheeran I should call in and it was me. They took down my information and everything and the concert is tonight." I freaked out. I screamed a bit, almost fainted, then realized that I had the task of convincing my boss to let the two of us leave early and not attend family night. But, of course, after running around getting errands done and being awesome, we were off. Katie and I showed up in Boston at the Hard Rock Cafe just in time. The room was full of maybe 60 - 100 people and we were less that 15 feet from the microphone that he would be standing at. He came out and sang three songs but answered a bunch of questions from the audience. And let me tell you: he looked good. I was freaking out. I mean, he looks even better in real life. And those tattoos...ok I'll stop. Anyways, it was hands down the greatest night of my life and I can't believe I have such an amazing best friend. And thank you to Mark for changing the radio to that station at the perfect moment! :) So, yeah...that happened. Sometime life just works out so well. Hope you are all doing great!
